Job Description: Coordinates Division and Neuroscience Service Line educational programs and symposia.
Performs administrative, database support, and transcription duties, as required by the Neuroscience Service Line, following established standards and practices assuring excellent guest relations and a safe environment. Carries out tasks in a professional, courteous and positive manner to maintain the highest quality of care for the patient population. Position is part-time, 16 hours per week (weekdays), day shift (8am-4:30pm). Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or GED required .
Must possess knowledge and skill set normally acquired through completion of at least four (4) years of secretarial courses and/or office management experience, beyond high school. Knowledge of computer functions, experience with word processing database development, data management, spread sheet software, and power point presentations required. Willingness to learn additional PC software applications, as necessary. Must display excellent quality customer service skills and possess ability to create a caring and professional environment.
Strong attention to detail, exceptional interpersonal skills (in order to communicate effectively and courteously both face-to-face and on the telephone with many internal and external customers), including multicultural patients and families, physicians, pharmaceutical company representatives, hospital employees, volunteers, community organizations and vendors. Work requires ability to work both independently, as well as, interacting in a team environment with staff from Neuroscience Center as well as Lehigh Neurology/LVPG. Influenza vaccination will be required for all personnel working within LVHN, who have patient contact, unless medically contraindicated or due to a bonafide religious belief or practice. Preferred Qualifications: Interest or experience in Neuroscience diseases desired.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Medical transcription or medical secretarial courses desired.
