This position is that of a Police Officer assigned to Operations Division, Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic Detachment in Cutler, ME. The Operations Division provides police services for the station and assigned areas. KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be a US Citizen.
Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance.
Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.
Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
This position is a drug-testing designated position (TDP).

This position is covered by the Lautenberg Act. DUTIES:
Serves as a Police Officer providing law enforcement, physical security, anti-terrorism, and force protection services

Performs Sentry duty on gates and piers

Conducts foot and vehicle patrols QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities, as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience that provided knowledge of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining law and order and protecting life and property. Creditable experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a Military Police Officer/Master-at-Arms; in work providing visitor protection in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreation environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or other work that provided the required skills and knowledge.

Or

successful completion of four (4) full years of undergraduate coursework leading to a bachelor's degree in Police Science, Criminology, General Law, Law Enforcement, or a comparable degree program related to the work of a Police Officer.

Or

a combination of the experience as described above and undergraduate-level education as described above which, when combined, is equivalent to 100% of the qualification requirement. Successful completion of a Federal, State, county, or municipal police academy or comparable training course that included at least 40 classroom hours of instruction in police department procedures and methods, and local law and regulations, may be substituted for a maximum of three (3) months of specialized experience.

Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license. Must provide a copy of your license with this application, Failure to provide your license may result in you losing consideration for the position.

REQUIREMENTS:
PCS/Relocation expenses will not be paid

Must attend and successfully complete the COMNAVREGMIDLANT Police Academy, 10 weeks are in Norfolk, VA, as scheduled by the command. Usually within the first month of hire.

May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Must pass required physical examinations

Drug testing designated position. Subject to random drug and alcohol testing

Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license from your state of residence

Must provide a copy of your driver's license with your application

This position is covered by the Lautenberg Act. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are ineligible for this position.

Must be able to wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment

Must obtain and maintain qualifications to use service related firearms and weapons

Must handle and carry a firearm when on duty

Must obtain and maintain qualifications for all assigned equipment, including Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection equipment

May be subject to call back and emergency overtime

May be required to wear a uniform and comply with grooming standards

Work includes long and irregular hours
