As a Credit Analyst in U. S. Steel's Treasury organization, you will be assigned a geographic region and have responsibility for the collection of accounts receivable and application of cash/customer payments to customer accounts.
Maintain account portfolio in a timely and accurate manner
Resolve customer deductions, payment discrepancies and other referral items
Develop and maintain working relationships with assigned customer base
Represent U. S. Steel appropriately in the process of preserving corporate assets
Develop and maintain excellent knowledge of Treasury, Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Cash Application systems.
The successful candidate will interact with our Customers, as well as Sales, Traffic/Logistics, Claims and Accounting personnel
High School Diploma
Must possess a fundamental understanding of accounting principles
Proficient in the use of a computer, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and ability to master in-house systems
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and listening skills
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Previous credit and collections experience
Working knowledge of Treasury, Cash Application and/or Accounts Receivable systems.
