PEDIATRX MEDICAL GROUP JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Licensed Practical/ Status: Salary Vocational Nurse Salary Range: I. GENERAL SUMMARY The LPN/LVN provides direct patient care and works with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to pediatric cardiology patients in the office setting. II. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Maintain and possess a State Licensed Practical Nursing license. 2. Assists the physicians and nurse practitioners as needed 3. Performs EKGs, 4 extremity blood pressures, pulse oximetry on patients ranging in age from newborn to adult. 4. Performs telephone triage and documents calls, physician responses, and patient instructions accurately. 5. Calls in prescription refills accurately and documents appropriately 6. Participates in digital archiving of echocardiogram data. 7. Places cardiac monitors on patients and particiapates in downloading results. 8. Prepares for, transports equipment, and performs patient workup at out of town outreach clinics. 9. Cleans, stocks, and prepares examination rooms. Keeps rooms comfortable for patients, physicians, and nurse practitioners. 10. Monitors medical supply inventory. 11. Maintains patient confidentiality. 12. Performs weekly Quality Control as directed. 13. Recognizes ethical, legal and professional issues inherent in providing care to office patients 14. Communicates effectively and courteously with and demonstrates a caring attitude toward patients and their families. 15. Treats all patients and their families with dignity and respect. 16. Acts in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner recognizing an individual’s religious, ethical, and moral opinion/belief. 17. Uses standards of patient satisfaction as a measure of effectiveness. 20. Follows universal precautions and OSHA standards. 21. Performs other assigned duties as directed. III. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED 1. Education; Associate in Arts degree from a vocational/practical nursing program with a state license as an LPN/LVN. 2. Experience; One year experience in pediatric, PICU, NICU nursing, some office experience preferred. 3. Must maintain CPR certification. 4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment 5. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. 6. Ability to function well as a team player 7. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. IV. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 1. An individual must be licensed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in Texas 2. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations. 3. Must provide evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements. 4. Complete Corporate Office requirements on the completion of the Compliance Program. V. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Position reports to Practice Manager, Nurse Manager and Medical Director.

Requirements:
1. Education; Associate in Arts degree from a vocational/practical nursing program with a state license as an LPN/LVN. 2. Experiences; One year experience in pediatric nursing, office experience preferred. 3. Must maintain CPR certification. 4. Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment 5. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. 6. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. 7. Ability to accurately calculate medication dosages. 8. Ability to work well as a team player.
