Performs radiographic procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. Practices radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding and appropriate exposure techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff. May specialize in mammography or other radiologic imaging modalities. Following training and competency assessment, performs point of care testing as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Licensure, Registration, Certifications:
Registered Technologist, Category- R from the American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) or Registry eligible (must be registered by the ARRT within one year of employment). Basic Life Support (BLS) from an approved American Heart Association training program or CPR for the Professional Rescuer from the American Red Cross.
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Associated degree from an accredited college or university Radiologic Technology program preferred.
None, prefer one year of experience.
