MH IP 5ABD 36 bed unit comprised of one (10 bed) open unit and two (12-14 bed) locked units. Staff are passionate about quality patient care for Behavioral patient

Primary Function & Major Responsibilities Communication and organizational skills.Knowledge of basic medical/nursing terminology.Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups.Responds to all "Code Green" emergency codes call on Behavioral Care UnitsMust demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span, possess the ability to gather data reflective of the patient's status, identify patient needs in relation to age and to provide the care needed.Knowledge of de-escalation, crisis intervention techniques and working knowledge of intra department functions and interactions.Patient interviewing skills

Qualifications

Education:
High school graduate.Post high school education and/or degree in psychology/chemical dependency or related field.

Experience:
Two years acute mental health experience.Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be able to participate in crisis intervetions.Regular/Temporary
