Imagination Technologies, with its MIPS Processor Group, is now embarking on an exciting new development phase and is looking to significantly expand teams around the world to further develop existing product lines and work on a number of completely new CPU projects. In addition to those CPUs sold direct to customers, others will be embedded into future IP products such as the 3D graphics, video and communication IP produced by Imagination's PowerVR and Ensigma groups. The MIPS Processor Group will also take on novel and exciting SoC projects in emerging application areas from concept through to production. Imagination’s MIPS Processor Group has a newly created position in its Sunnyvale, CA Design Center for a Manager of Technical Publications. This hands-on contributor will be responsible for managing and improving the documentation generation processes used to create a wide range of highly technical customer-facing system architecture documents, system design guides, implementation guides, best practices guides, and technical marketing documentation, delivered both as printed material and electronic publications. Principal duties and responsibilities include Project scheduling and resource allocation creating, updating and maintaining project schedules while also contributing significantly to the group. Driving new processes, as well as enhancements to existing processes. Interacting with engineering project teams on a regular basis to ensure that their documentation requirements are being met. Ensuring the high quality, timeliness, and process excellence of all technical documentation, keeping abreast of best practices and continuously improving processes for the creation and production of technical publications. Hiring, on-boarding, training, mentoring and coaching team members, and formally appraising staff performance. This position requires 10 or more years experience in technical documentation of either CPU, graphics or computer systems, with 5 or more years experience as department manager. The successful candidate will also possess Mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio. Deep expertise with Adobe FrameMaker. Comfort with participating in discussions at ManagerDirectorSenior Director level. Ability to read and understand Verilog andor VHDL. Ability to take stream of consciousness technical information and organize it into articulate documents. Knowledge of CPU architecture. The successful candidate will have these qualities Understanding of CPU and computer architecture. Skilled in creation of technical documents and electronic publishing. Strong ability to self-organize. A positive 'can do' attitude. A passion for excellence and attention to detail. Able to work both independently and leading a team. Excellent communication skills, including mastery of written English. Will enjoy working in a busy but informal environment. Understanding of CPU Architecture and Computer Architecture; Adobe Framemaker, Verilog/VHDL, Excel, Visio, and MS Word
