Florida Hospital's Nutritional Services Department is currently accepting applications to be considered for full-time, part-time and per diem (on call) positions at the following locations:
Altamonte
Apopka
Celebration Health
East Orlando
Orlando
Kissimmee
Winter Park
These applications will be considered for CURRENT and FUTURE openings. These positions cover many shifts including days, evenings and nights. These shifts include:
8 hour days ( for example 7:00am - 3:00pm )
8 hour evenings ( for example 3:00pm - 11:00pm )
8 hour nights ( for example 11:00pm - 7:00am )
12 hour days ( for example 7:00am - 7:00pm )
12 hour evenings ( for example 2:00pm - 2:00am )
12 hour nights ( for example 7:00pm - 7:00am )
The positions that Florida Hospital is accepting applications for include:
Bakery Packaging
Coordinates, routes and prepares bakery items for shipment to each campus, using worksheets and CBORD issue requisitions. Verifies accuracy of issue requisitions against product pulled and delivered. Ices and cuts brownies. Slices bread. Packages, labels and prices bakery sale items. Manages packaging supplies inventory, using CBORD to requisition items. Follows through on customer questions, comments and complaints.
Position is cross-functional in nature and can be assigned various areas. These areas include but are not limited to cashier, food preparation, food server, deli/ salad bar, smoothie/ dessert/ coffee/ dining room attendant, etc. Operates cash register with speed and accuracy while providing world-class service. Responsible for preparing, serving, and\or maintaining the quality of hot or cold food items and\or maintaining the orderliness of work areas as assigned. Ensures that when preparing foods, they will follow recipe specifications and ensure the products meet standards for quality, taste, appearance, freshness as well as proper portions and product labeling. Meets production/service deadlines, and demonstrate cost conscious behaviors. All sanitation, safety, cleanliness, food storage and food handling standards must be followed. May be expected to clean and/or stock throughout the shift. Must have knowledge of food items and must interact with customers to answer questions and to promote food offerings.
Cart Men
Responsible for the delivery of rethermed food card and retrieving dirty carts from nursing units and taking them to the dishroom. Is careful to move carts without bumping into other people and walls. Picks up spills left by liquids or solids from the carts. Knows all nursing floors and where to leave carts. Helps Room Service as needed. Completes other tasks as assigned by a supervisor.
Dishwasher / Pots & Pans
Responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and sanitation of all dishes, pans, utensils, etc., and the entire dishwashing work area. Ensures proper use of all equipment including dishmachine, cart washing equipment and all carts. Ensures proper use of all chemicals. Assists with delivery of patient meal carts to floors and the return of carts to the dishroom. Returns carts to proper area in kitchen. Assists with floor upkeep and maintenance in food service facility. Demonstrates knowledge of state and federal sanitation guidelines. Logs dishmachine temperatures on the HACCP logs on daily basis. Empties trash. Any other duties as deemed appropriate by supervisor.
Edibles Xpress Prep
Coordinates, routes and prepares sandwiches and HMR (home meal replacement) products for shipment to each campus using worksheets and Cbord issue requisitions. Verifies accuracy of issue requisitions against product made and delivered. Packages, labels and prices sandwiches and HMR products. Manages packaging supplies inventory, using Cbord to requisition items. Follows through on Customer questions, comments and complaints.
Gift Basket Designer & Cashier
Responsible for accurate and quick processing of all cash and change transactions. Pursues opportunities to cross-sell. Provides courteous, helpful, and friendly service to all customers. Makes recommendations as to product purchasing, and tracks sales. Takes accurate verbal and phone orders, provides follow-through, and coordinates with bakery. Responsible for taking gift basket orders, ordering supplies, and follow-through. Large customer contact. Must monitor inventory levels. Must be creative, to design for customer specifics.
Host /Hostess
Acting as the department's service liaison, the Hosts/Hostesses need to display a compassionate wish for our patient's betterment and continued well being. Responsible for providing world class patient meal services by presenting "Spoken Menu" and anticipating patient needs. Also by assuring outstanding quality, service, cleanliness and sanitation in the preparation of trays, distribution and retrieval of meals and nourishment to our patients; to provide hotel quality service. To keep Cbord system updated according to order communication received from nursing units. Works closely with Chef Manager and Patient Meal Service Supervisor to maintain quality of service and notify of any unusual issues, problems or questions. Surveys patients and is pro-active to input and outcomes.
Ingredient Room Coordinator
Responsible for weighing and measuring all food ingredients to fill recipe requirements for production. Communicates to production pre-prep needs, production substitutions, and production delays.
Patient Service Attendant - Room Service Attendant
Responsible for enhancing the patient experience by being responsible for all operations of the Room Service Area that include ensuring the receipt of food orders, food preparation and food delivery of all patient meal trays whom could not eat at normal meal service times. Assists in the completion of the patient trays and the flow of food carts for patients who eat during scheduled meal times. Complies with all patient confidentiality requirements (HIPPA) and sanitation and safety requirements. During delivery of food items, interacts with patients of all age groups and nurtures positive relationships with nursing, Health Unit Coordinators, etc.
PM Trayline - Room Service Attendant
Responsible for the setup, breakdown and serving of all items on the trayline. Monitors food and beverage quality for taste, appearance, and freshness. Must demonstrate familiarity with food service sanitation requirements by monitoring temperatures and ensuring proper storage and rotation of products. Responsible for the operations of the Room Service Area. Ensures the receipt of food orders, preparation and delivery of all patient meal trays who could not eat at normal meal service times. During delivery of food items, momentarily interacts with patients of all age groups.
Production Assistant
Ensures that all food products (including soups, stews, sauces, vegetables, salads, gelatins, starches, sandwiches, casseroles, and meats) are made to recipe specifications and procedures, and all products meet standards for quality, taste, appearance and freshness. Meets all production deadlines, demonstrates cost conscious behavior, and initiates advance preparation as appropriate. · PSA Preparation Specialist
Responsible for preparing according to production sheets, all cold and hot food orders, liquid nourishment, sandwiches, etc. Dishes out food items neatly onto dishes and garnishes accordingly. Ensures that all products meets quality standards for taste, appearance, and freshness. Demonstrates cost - conscious behaviors through proper portioning, storage and rotation of food. Adheres to all established sanitation and safety standards. Performs trayline duties as assigned ensuring neatly served food on patients' trays. Performs dishroom duties as outlined in the job routine.
PSA Trayline Attendant / Trayline
Responsible for the set up, service and breakdown of menu items on the trayline. Plates food and mixes beverages for the patients' meal trays ensuring proper portions, using quality measures for taste, freshness and attractive plate presentation. Demonstrates adherence to safety and sanitation standards in the preparation, service, storage and rotation of all food products used on trayline. Responsible for interacting and communicating with patients of all age groups and their families with compassion and courtesy. Prepares and delivers late meal trays and individual nourishments.
Salad Production
Responsible to produce salads and other cold food products for patients, café, restaurant and special functions. Ensures that all cold food production is produced according to recipe specifications and procedures, and that all products meet standards for quality, taste, appearance and freshness. Demonstrates creativity, development and standardization of recipes. Meets production deadline, demonstrates cost conscious behavior and initiates advance prep as appropriate. Adheres to all sanitation and cleanliness and food storage standards. Cleans and stocks throughout shift. Records product temperatures and monitors holding times. Performs a physical inventory to assess needs for preparation and ordering. Assists with serving customers in café and restaurant as requested. Assists with preparing trays for patient meal services. Maintains sandwich and salad prep for café and restaurant. Prepares salad, desserts, etc. for special functions.
Sanitation / Utility Specialist
Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the all front of the house and back of the house areas, which include but are not limited to the servery, coolers, freezers, stockrooms, work areas, and trash removal. Responsible for general equipment and dish machine equipment cleanliness and the cleanliness of. floors, floor drains, walls, baseboards, storage racks, trash cans, etc. Responsible for washing and sanitizing dishes, trays, pots, pans, utensils, etc and delivering the clean, dry items to the appropriate locations. Must safely operate, clean and sanitize dish machine, trash disposal and other assigned equipment. Must monitor and record temperatures of the dish machine and 3 compartment sink. Must be able to interact with people and have a friendly, courteous disposition. Must display professional appearance and positive attitude and the ability to handle large volumes of work.
Special Functions Assistant
Responsible for the delivery, set up, service and clean up of all food and supplies for catered functions, which may include off campus locations and The Doctor's Lounge. Responsible for attractively arranging and maintaining the neatness and organization of the food buffet table, dining tables and banquet room. Must also maintain the quality of hot or cold food items and\or maintain the orderliness of work areas in the kitchen. Must serve customers in a friendly and professional manner from the buffet table as well as full waitress\ waiter service, as needed. Responsible for some food preparation of salads and sandwiches and may need to coordinate service of other foods with the banquet chef. Ensures that when preparing foods, they will follow recipe specifications and ensure the products meet standards for quality, taste, appearance, freshness as well as proper portions and product labeling. Must meet all production/service deadlines, and demonstrate cost conscious behaviors. Expected to clean, organize, re-stock and clear tables throughout the catered event. Must have knowledge of food items.
Utility
Responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, pots and pans, utensils, small equipment, etc. of the cafeteria, special functions and patient service areas. Does project cleaning as assigned or schedules. Assists on tray line, delivery of patient meal carts to units. Retrieves trays when requested. Assists in production and other areas of department as needed. Utilizes all equipment and chemicals according to policies and procedures; demonstrates knowledge of safety and sanitation standards in handling, cleaning and storing of all dishes, pots and pans, utensils, small equipment, etc. of the department.
Utility (Stock)
Receives deliveries and stocks supplies, rotates inventory;FIFO. Assists with inventories. Does project cleaning as assigned or schedules. Assists on tray line, delivery of patient meal carts to units. Retrieves trays when requested. Assists in production and other areas of department as needed.
Utility / Trayline Floor Supplies
Responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness and sanitation of the dining room and servery. Assists with dishes, floor supplies, food carts, tray line as requested. Responsible for floor supplies collection, delivery, and monitors. Works a station on tray line, delivers patient meal carts and late trays to units. Retrieves trays when requested. Does project cleaning as assigned or schedules. Assists in production and other areas of department as needed. Utilizes all equipment and chemicals according to policies and procedures; demonstrates knowledge of safety and sanitation standards in handling, cleaning and storing of all dishes, pots and pans, utensils, small equipment, etc. of the department.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :
Must be people-oriented and display a friendly, courteous disposition and have the ability to effectively interact with patients and family of all ages, peers and other Nutritional Services/Hospital staff. Must be team and service orientated and communicate effectively and in a professional manner. Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively.
