The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana
University School of Medicine seeks a pathologist with strong
diagnostic skills in surgical pathology and cytopathology to fill a
tenure track position. The individual will be based at Indiana
University Health Arnett Medical Center in Lafayette, Indiana.
Preference will be given to those candidates with expertise in
performing fine needle aspiration biopsies. Academic rank will be
determined by qualifications and level of experience. Indiana
University Health Arnett accessions approximately 10,000 surgical
specimens each year. In addition, there are nearly 11,000 Pap
smears and other exfoliative cytology specimens and more than 250
fine needle aspiration interpretations annually. Some clinical
pathology is also required.
Certification by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and
clinical pathology is required. Indiana University is the sole
medical school in the state of Indiana.
Lafayette is a thriving Midwestern city, home to Purdue University.
It is approximately 60 minutes by car from downtown Indianapolis
which has outstanding cultural and sports facilities.
