The Physicians' Order Quality Review Specialist reviews physicians' and other
medical providers' orders for scheduled outpatient diagnostic services for
completeness, coding, compliance and medical necessity purposes prior to the
scheduled exam(s). He/she contacts providers' offices on a pre-exam basis to
resolve any issues related to orders. The Physicians' Order Quality Review
Specialist also serves as a resource for staff registering patients for
unscheduled diagnostic services and works closely with all departments within
the Revenue Cycle as well as Clinical Departments to maximize quality patient
care and minimize reimbursement risks associated with the provision of medical

outpatient authorizations, and/or diagnostic imaging.

standard office software and proficiency in data entry.
The ideal candidate functions well as part of an
interdisciplinary team and understands the critical importance of their
responsibilities to quality patient care, the hospital's cash flow, accounts
receivable, and patient/physician loyalties and is extremely diligent in
ensuring all associated processes are updated when a provider's order is
updated; this includes but is not limited to updating scheduling, authorization,
registration, and order entry if applicable in an accurate and timely manner.
