Will work with the solution team to build solutions focused around complex event processing/high frequency trading using various progress products. The focus of activities for this role spans from modeling, simulation, user interface, and implementing any detailed business logic for the solution as well as providing domain expertise around capital markets. The primary focus is around building the end-user application and the user interfaces around complex algorithmic trading solutions. The Financial Services Solution Developer works collaboratively with the other team members to deliver an end-to-end solution for the client.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for detailed technical designing and building of solutions based on complex event processing/trading solutions for customers in the financial services/capital markets
Responsible for the quality of the technical deliverables to meet the customer requirements
Responsible for the right usage of the product
Building/Coding of specific components as required
Ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, checklists and guidelines
Estimation and drill down of work break down structure
Required Profile
Application Design and User Interface Skills:
Real-world experience building business applications for business users which incorporate a user interface
Experience with web based user interfaces - HTML, Java Script/Java Based UI, Web 2.0 Concepts
Experience building business applications using databases
Development skills in C/C++, Java, C# and/or similar languages, experience with other Complex Event Processing (CEP) products Technical knowledge of front-office trading systems including Market Data Systems, Order Management
Design Skills:
Process/Application design proficiency
Expert understanding of UI design in trading systems
Enterprise IT Skills:
Experience with Database based applications, using JDBC or ODBC
Experience with Software test frameworks, such as JUNIT/PSYS or comparable
Java/C++/C#, JSP, JavaScript, and JMS proficiency (Desirable)
Experience building at least one J2EE/C++/C# application in an enterprise environment
UNIX and Windows proficiency
Experience with a software methodology, such as `Agile`
Test Skills:
Basic understanding of test planning
Basic understanding of User Acceptance test
Soft Skills:
Communication proficiency
Presentation proficiency
Facilitation proficiency
Writing proficiency
Additional Preferred Skills:
Experience with other complex event processing engines
Knowledge of ant and scripting languages
