Meets and greets patients in a professional manner. Answers telephones and takes accurate messages. Schedules appointments. Pulls patients charts. Registers patients in the computer. Collects co-pays and balances when necessary. Interacts with the billing department to ensure the proper payments are made for services rendered. Escorts patients to the exam room, takes required vitals, discusses with the patients the reason for their visit, and prepares patients for their exam. Creates a positive image by responding professionally to all patients, staff and other customers.
-HS Diploma or GED.
-Medical Assistant Education, preferred
-2-3 years experience in healthcare setting with progressively greater responsibility experience.
-Certified Medical Assistant, preferred
-Computer skills, must be able to type 30 words per minute
-Customer service skills
-Ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with all persons
-Read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner
-Independent decision-making abilities, flexibility, personal integrity and ability to function effectively as a team member
-Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
