Under the direction of the Senior Director, Deliverability Consulting, you’ll be responsible for supporting the sale and delivery of Return Path’s Email Deliverability and Technology Consulting products and services.

Responsibilities

Delivers Professional Services product offerings to Return Path’s clients

Research customer email issues and present solutions and recommendations

Project Management including time tracking

Review and improve existing configurations

Provides sales support to Direct Sales, Client Services and Channel for Return Path’s Professional Services consulting offerings

Work with Sales, Client Services, Channels and Return Path’s clients to understand client problems and recommend appropriate Return Path solutions

Author complex client proposals for Professional Services projects

Works with the Senior Director, Deliverability Consulting and other team members to craft custom consulting solutions

Actively look for opportunities to productize new services, develop and improve existing service templates, project plans, documentation and presentations

Stays apprised of email industry and technology trends

Maintains understanding of email technology evolutions and how they can impact client programs

Assumes role of “internal thought leader”, contributing to research studies and Fast Path product support

Assumes role of an "industry expert", responsible for blog postings, client alerts, and speaking engagements

Responsible for regularly sharing insight and information to PS during team meetings

Acts as educational resource for internal groups and clients on an as needed basis and may include formal training, whitepapers and seminars

May be asked to record/host short (10-15 minute) tutorials or webinars

Responsible for daily checking of relevant industry sites and blogs, and determination of distribution of findings either internally or externally

Knowledge of email response marketing concepts at a high level and how creative and content can affect email opens, click-throughs and conversions

What does it take to be successful in this role?

P rior experience working in the email industry, such as an ESP, part of a direct client’s email system administration team, ISP Abuse Desk, mail server administrator, or in Deliverability Consulting

Strong understanding of the components of a bulk emailing system, including infrastructure configuration best practices

Prior project management experience, preferably in a consulting role

Previous experience in presenting documents and solutions to clients or executives

Proven track record of success in a team environment with demonstrated analytic, troubleshooting and consulting skills

Strong understanding of email messaging, email networks, protocols, filtering applications and techniques, compliance standards (such as CAN-SPAM), email industry best practices

Familiarity with common filters and how they are designated in headers and/or delivery logs

Strong understanding of email marketing concepts and challenges

Strong familiarity with database concepts, specifically regarding email data capture and segmentation

Willingness to confront and attack the unknown; this role requires comfort with ambiguity and flexibility

Strong interpersonal communication skills regarding operational and service issues

Strong organizational & detail management skills

Strong focus on service excellence and the ability to interact with people at all levels, including executive management

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to self-manage on complex projects, track activities and report progress to management on demand

Fluent English required and French, Brazilian Portuguese and/or German would be a huge plus .
