As a Public Affairs Specialist you will:
Perform work involved in establishing and maintaining mutual communication between Federal agencies and the general public and various other pertinent publics including internal and external audiences.
You will be involved in identifying communication needs and developing informational materials that inform appropriate publics of the agency's policies, programs, services and activities; and planning, executing, and evaluating the effectiveness of information and communications programs.
QUALIFICATIONS/ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: You must meet the following eligibility and basic qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal government that demonstrated mastery of communication practices and techniques to be able to function as the technical authority, direct complex programs and develop communication materials designed to promote the mission, programs, goals, and objectives within the organization; Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships to facilitate communications with counterparts; Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to shape programs development and evaluating program effectiveness; Extensive knowledge of IRS objectives, and the overall organization to recommend policies, programs, services, and procedures and evaluate alternatives. In this position you will need expert skill in development and dissemination of communication materials designed and in-depth skill in analyzing and developing recommendations from a wide array of conflicting and divergent information.
Examples of specialized experience include: Strong writing and editing background that lends to writing for the web; knowledge in HTML, CSS Java, and Accessibility; and familiarity with web design and industry standards.
