TekStream Solutions has an immediate need for a Software Developer for our client a large corporation that provides enterprise software solutions The Software Developer is responsible for developing and enhancing NMDMS product for Distribution Automation (a part of the SmartGrid solution used by utility companies for automation of distribution operations and improved network efficiency) Primary Responsibilities Work on electrical network modeling network security and switching crew management and integration the product with AMI SCADA and other systems to make the power grid smarter Creating technical designs Work directly with customers to understand business rules and requirements and transform them into technical requirements and features for the products Perform high level design and development of enhancements and core product improvements Develop solutions to integrate product with AMIAMR technologies to form a platform for intelligent monitoring of power statuses and customer usage to enable realtime detection of and action upon power failure and restoration events Work to integrate NMDMS system with SCADA system to enable realtime flow of network data into the system for use in outage analysis network security analysis and switching also for future network modeling Support customers during FATSATrollout and maintenance Developing software and writing unit tests Troubleshooting issues Mentor new hires and lead teams through detailed implementation and testing Developing product and industry expertise Act as engineering representative at sales or marketing events Assisting other team members Education andor Experience Bachelor’s in Computer Science Engineering or related field Five years experience as Software Engineer ProgrammerAnalyst or in Software Development Extensive experience with CC++ on UnixLinux platforms ProCOCI Java XML MFC VC++ C Perl Experience with RedHat Linux HPUX IBM AIX Sun Solaris Experience with TIBCO Smart Socket EMS IBM WebSphere MQ WebLogic BM Experience with Clearcase ClearQuest Eclipse and Visual Studio Experience with working and integrating third party open source toolslibraries Ability to analyze business requirements and designs to thoroughly identify technical requirements Ability to produce detailed and complete technical designs based on business requirements Ability to identify technical issues with the software and communicate them effectively to the development team Ability to query Oracle databases to troubleshoot issues and verify functionality requirements Ability to delve into client and serverside development Ability to efficiently manage assigned tasks Accurately estimate work efforts and meet scheduled deliverable dates Proactively raise issues during development so that development milestones are always achieved TekStream Solutions is a Consulting Services organization with Recruiting and Delivery expertise around BPM Enterprise Content Management Enterprise Portal Web Strategy and User Experience Design
