Job Summary:
Bid Managers facilitate the development of Request for Proposals (RFP) responses from start to finish. First, they assist the account team in preparing for upcoming bids by gathering key information on the customer and using that information to facilitate development of the overall bid strategy, win theme, and strategic messaging. Once an RFP is in-house, Bid Managers manage and coordinate all aspects of the bid, including assigning resources, leading strategy meetings, and ensuring that key milestones are met, to produce a persuasive, compliant, and high-quality bid on time and on budget. The Bid Manager guides and coordinates the account team, Business Proposals department, technical resources and other relevant departments through the proposal development, review, and production processes, and escalates issues when required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage bids of varying size, scope and complexity, and often multiple bids at once.

Analyze and understand customer requirements and manage the proposal development response accordingly.

Hold and facilitate kickoff meetings with various business units in the company.

Support the account team in articulating and communicating the bid strategy, value propositions, differentiators, messaging, etc. to the bid team, writers, editors, graphic designers, etc. in a clear and timely manner.

Develop assignment plans in accordance with the RFP and assign proposal sections to appropriate writers and subject matter experts.

Create and continually update bid schedule/project plan.

Coordinate bid reviews by subject matter experts, account teams, compliance teams, senior staff, etc.

Facilitate compliance and Account Team reviews to ensure the bid meets specific account requirements.

Facilitate status meetings to communicate project updates as well as identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Ensure all work adheres to departmental processes and performance standards.

Work closely with the production team to assist with editing, formatting, graphic design, printing, and shipping.


Minimum education:
BA/BS or the equivalent

Years of Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, preferably as a Bid Manager or the equivalent related experience.

Demonstrated passion for producing high-quality work that focuses on the customer's stated needs.

Process oriented, with the ability to work well under pressure.

Extensive knowledge of bid management principles, processes, and best practices.

PMP certification – preferred.

Shipley certification – preferred.
