PLANNED PARENTHOOD OF ORANGE AND SAN BERNARDINO COUNTIES

ORANGE, CA

BILLER (TEMPORARY)

Temporary full-time position (6 month assignment) responsibile for billing of insurance claims.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

•Timely review, revision and billing of claims
•Ensure daily billing report balances today sheets for claims. Interacts with health center staffs to ensure accurate and complete data
•Responsible for printing and mailing paper claims and required documentation to correct payers
•Responsible for working billing errors from billing report daily
•Responsible for working RAD (Remittance Advice Detail) billing errors within 4 weeks of receipt of RAD
•Ability to meet or exceed daily production requirements
•Perform other duties as may be assigned by Manager
•Report billing system or other problems timely to Manager

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

1. Intermediate typing skills
2. Intermediate computer skills
3. EMR experience

•Familiarity with Medi-Cal, FPACT, & PE). Medical terminology knowledge. Medical EMR (eCW a plus) and billing software knowledge.
•Knowledge of MS Excel.
•Professional appearance and attitude.
•Ability to maintain confidentiality.
•Availability to work flexible hours and overtime, as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
•High School Diploma
•2 years medical billing experience required
•Family Planning experience a plus
•Medi-Cal Managed Care experience a plus-understanding of division of financial responsibility contracts.
