The Category Manager- Procurement leads cross functional teams in developing innovative goods and services agreements and sourcing strategies that result in strong customer satisfaction, an excellent total value proposition, appropriate cost/price reductions, lower overall Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and appropriate supplier relationship gains. Additionally, these components result in the organization's overall business and supply requirements being met, the promotion of strategic supplier partnerships and an effective supplier management program. The Category Manager will keep current on the supply market, trends and pricing. This Category Manager Procurement is also responsible for optimizing the supply base through strategic sourcing and the control and management of all suppliers and all spend in their assigned category. The Category Manager Procurement is expected to be a strong team player who can build both internal and external relationships, cooperate with internal business units and work at all levels of the organization to meet business units and organizational objectives.
. B.S. / B.A. degree in Business (or other related degree programs such as supply chain management or engineering) required.
. MBA, CPM ,CPSM preferred
Job Experience Required:
. 10+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing with a major company.
. 7+ years of negotiation and supplier management experience, simultaneously and continuously improving customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and productivity in the sourcing and supplier management area.
