Materials

The District is accepting applications to work at the Maintenance & Operations department. All application materials must be received in the Human Resources Department. To be considered, the following must be furnished: • Classified Employment Application • Associate’s Degree from an accredited college with course work in engineering, architecture, construction management or a related field. • Requires a valid California Driver’s License. • Possession of a valid general contractor’s license or engineering license is desirable. Applicants needing special accommodations for testing should submit a request to Human Resources at the time of application. Resumes are optional. Letters of recommendations are encouraged. In order to meet an application deadline, materials may be faxed and followed by submission of original.

Education and Experience: Requires the equivalent to an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college with course work in engineering, architecture, construction management or a related field. Minimum of five years of related experience required. Related experience includes construction inspection, civil engineering or private contracting firm providing technical construction inspection or major public works building projects. Salary: The current salary range is $65,759 - $78,526 per year, depending on depth of experience. An attractive fringe benefit package is offered as well as an annual $1,808 Master’s stipend. PERS (retirement) is fully paid by the District. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS All regular employees who work a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week are entitled to the following fringe benefits (effective on the first of the month following employment): Anthem Blue Cross Hospital/Medical, Dental Care, and Vision Care plan for employee; Life Insurance coverage for employee only; Long Term Disability coverage; sick leave; membership in the Public Employees Retirement System. (The District pays the employee’s contributions to the retirement fund.)
