Dordt College is currently seeking a full-time faculty member to join the Education Department in August 2013. Possible areas of expertise needed are in a combination of the following: introductory/foundational education courses, licensure and program assessment, English as a Second Language, and/or Special Education. The ability to teach courses in the graduate program in the areas of curriculum and instruction and/or educational leadership will also be considered. In addition to teaching, the faculty member would advise education students and assist with student teaching supervision and evaluation. This position would also include participation as a full team member in department and college administrative tasks (including curriculum development and review, assessment, development of new initiatives, student recruiting and advising, and committee assignments). Other expectations would include the development and implementation of an ongoing program of scholarship and/or outreach with the potential to positively impact educational insights and practices in PK-12 education. An earned doctoral degree is preferred; a master’s degree with significant experience in PK-12 education is required.
