To contribute to the store’s success by assisting the General Manager.

Ensures that Mission, Vision, and Values are communicated, understood, and practiced with all team members under his/her direction. Promotes a culture that inspires improvement; continually develops and mentors team members under his/her direction, and is directly responsible for their success . Communicates with the General Manager regarding store objectives; communicates those objectives to team members in order to ensure effective operations. Executes operations programs and objectives by motivating and supporting the store team; executes store action plans to meet operational objectives; f ollows up consistently to ensure success of objectives. Promotes and embraces the company strategy.

Must have an outgoing personality and a positive attitude, and a passion for Bar-B-Q. Ability to make decisions and solve problems. Ability to create a fun environment. Must display accuracy and thoroughness. Must maintain a professional image and appearance. Must be detail oriented, goal oriented, and a self-starter who is organized and can multi-task. Ability to maintain composure and objectivity during difficult situations. Must have a sense of urgency. Must maintain a flexible schedule. Must have and maintain reliable transportation, a valid Florida driver’s license, a good driving record, and 100/300 coverage. Ability to attend and successfully complete any ongoing training or certification programs required by the company, federally, or by the state as it relates to this position.

At least one year related experience in the restaurant industry. Strong team building skills. Basic skill in reading, mathematics, writing, and interpreting general business documents. Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office programs.

High School Diploma or GED; o r any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Assistant Managers are regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time, handle products, tools, equipment, paperwork, and communicate effectively with guests, other managers, and team members. The job requires the use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; push, pull, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or bend; taste or smell; and talk or hear, and inhaling smoke from a wood-burning cooker. Sonny’s is a fast paced environment and requires constant human interaction and movement.

Assistant Managers regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

While performing the duties of your job, Assistant Managers regularly work with or near moving mechanical parts, may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and are requested to work with cleaning chemicals which can be toxic and/or caustic. Assistant Managers may be exposed to temperatures between 0 ° F and 100 ° F. As an Assistant Manager, you must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the job for up to a 12-hour shift.
