PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Market Manager is responsible for setting the overall strategic direction and articulating the tactical plan for achieving the business objectives in their assigned target audience based on the synthesis of available data, market insights, and external trends. Responsible for assessing the marketplace and critical clients and utilizing this information to derive insights and identify future implications and opportunities. Ultimately accountable for success in that target including penetration and other associated metrics. Serves as domain expert within TPD and works closely with Market Liaisons, Distribution and Marketing Campaign Managers to execute against segment needs and identify opportunities and threats. Also responsible for identifying and leveraging content and capabilities from other relevant TRP Business Units.
Segment Strategy -- Sets the overall strategic direction for the development and execution of initiatives focused on achieving the business objectives for assigned target audience. Responsible for utilizing deep knowledge of the market to determine implications for segment and marketing strategy. Uses this knowledge to identify opportunities and develops solutions in collaboration with Marketing Campaign managers which will drive new assets and support client retention. Ultimately accountable for success in that target including penetration and other associated metrics. Develops project business case for new initiatives and decides on most feasible/viable solution based on determining factors including cost, relevance to target audience, and resource availability.
Marketing Planning - Develops strategic marketing plans for targeted segments. These plans will have specific, measurable goals aligned with TPD’s business objectives. Strategies will be informed by a deep understanding of the needs and opportunities of the target segment, insights gleaned from relationships built with key contacts, and external industry research.
Market Accountability -- Reviews and analyzes provided by Marketing Analytics team, as well as and external industry data to find feasible marketing opportunities and to identify relevant trends in the market. Formulates and implements solutions to address trends and better position TPD to attract and retain new clients.
Internal Consulting -- Provides on-going management of existing marketing projects and conducts regular and thorough industry analysis to identify potential improvements to existing campaigns. Consults with sales teams and internal stakeholders to continuously guide marketing activities in segment and respond to market needs/activities.
