The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate for an exciting full-time permanent position within the Office of the Executive Director, Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO), Systems Engineering Division. The DCIO develops, coordinates, and maintains Commission-wide strategic and business information technology (IT) plans; develops the IT enterprise architecture; and ensures that all IT initiatives support all aspects of the Commission business plan and are compliant with Office of Management and Budget (OMB) directives.

DUTIES:
As an IT Specialist in the Systems Engineering Division, your duties will include the following:

  • Planning, directing and organizing projects by determining priorities and allocating resources
  • Providing insight on project risk and developing project risk profile, mitigation plan and contingency plan
  • Reviewing project work plans and revising as necessary to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Providing guidance in system analysis, design, development, and implementation for a new system or major enhancement to an existing system
  • Investigating, evaluating, and selecting tools and methods for improving productivity and system quality throughout the life cycle
  • Interacting with customers to assess their needs and provide information or assistance, while being committed to providing quality products and services
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent at least to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as:

Project management experience developing and implementing Federal software projects; or experience planning and implementing IT infrastructure projects. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferable but not mandatory.
