Seeking responsible individuals for outdoor/physical positions - 40 hr/wk (approximately the 8th of April through November 1, 2013) with possible extension. Flexible schedule may be available for students. Assist with summer brush pick-up service (CDL permit with air brake endorsement is required within 2 weeks of start date); provide support for FT arborist staff; general maintenance of demonstration gardens; maintenance and care of small/medium size trees including planting, watering, weed control, mulching, pruning. Other forestry related activities, including some overlap, for all positions as required. Must be able to effectively interact with public and co-workers. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license required. Job offer contingent on successful background check, pre-placement evaluation and drug screen. $10.50-$12.00/hr, DOE. Civil Engineer I (Traffic Operations)

The City of Fargo Traffic Engineering Department is seeking a Civil Engineering I to manage traffic operations. This includes the management of the City’s Over-Dimensional Vehicle Permit Program; assisting in the design, plan preparation and construction administration of temporary traffic control device layouts, permanent signing and striping plans; collecting traffic data for annual documentation and for various corridor studies; monitoring and documenting existing traffic operations at signalized intersections; conducting corridor travel time runs; completing traffic signal warrant analyses and intersection analyses; completing signal timing plans for arterial corridors; day-to-day management of traffic control for special events and excavation permit contractors in street ROW; Police and Street Dept contact for traffic control issues; and day-to-day management of traffic control on all streets within the City. Also includes knowledge of the existing on-street parking system throughout the City. Experience working with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, signal timing programs, and sign design software a plus. A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering design, 2+ years previous experience, valid engineer-in-training certificate and driver’s license are required. Salary is $4612-$4890 per month, plus benefits. Employment is contingent on successful background check, drug screen and proof of valid licensing.
