Account Executive for Denver Daily Deals

Opportunity for motivated sales professional with combined related experience in local merchant advertising and social media along with the experience to build partnerships for The Denver Post’s Denver Daily Deals. Strong connections with restaurants, theaters, spas and everything in between are a must, as well as negotiating unbeatable deal offers on behalf of our subscribers. Experience with online sales, advertising and social media are beneficial to an account executive’s success and fit within our Denver Daily Deals Team.

Responsibilities:
  • Aggressively research, develop, and cultivate leads for Denver Daily Deals using a variety of online and offline sources
  • Prospect for, consult with and close local Denver merchants on compelling offers for our subscribers based on each business’s products and services
  • Identify new and creative businesses and activities to be featured, expanding the range of deals for our subscribers
  • Qualify prospective clients by phone and close deals in-person
  • Use consultative sales skills to assess merchant goals, propose a customized Denver Daily Deals solution and obtain commitment
  • Manage relationships with established clients and construct proposals and contracts within selling guidelines to develop and maintain an ongoing book of business
  • Provide ongoing and up-to-date documentation to the Team and regularly collaborate best deal strategies
  • Meet and strive to exceed individual monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals
Qualifications:
  • College degree preferred
  • Two or more years of extensive online and multi-media advertising sales to local merchants in Denver
  • Experience canvassing and cold calling various types of local businesses, with evidence of consistent and current success
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, very high activity sales role
  • Demonstrates top-notch communication and presentation skills with the ability to creatively sell to all decision-making levels
  • Strong knowledge of social media such as Facebook and Twitter
  • Position requires excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently in a fast paced deadline driven environment
  • Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle to visit clients on site
