Contract Logistics Coordinator Needed in North Houston
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible to assist the Logistics Department in the management of shipment preparations and document completion for purchase order materials in support of company operations internationally. Responsible for processes in general coordination of daily logistical requirements including domestic freight requirements, status requests, quote preparations, air and ocean freight shipments from both International and US based Suppliers, in compliance with standards and U.S. export regulations. Coordinate the activities of the export packer / freight forwarder/s selected to handle GPG purchase order materials.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare, review, and confirm correctness and completeness of commercial invoices and related shipment documentation. Complete daily email communications, provide status updates. Arrange domestic transportation to facilitate expediting of PO shipments. Reconciliation of variance reports, assist in discrepancy resolution, researching w/ Vendor, Freight Forwarder, and Consignee. Working with the accounting department to facilitate payables and billing processes. Communicate daily with various parties, including but not limited to PO material Vendor/Suppliers, Freight transportation Co s., Forwarders, Consignee, and employees in other departments. Input material receipt records into system, complete system data entries as needed in support of supply cycle. Applicant must be able to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Be able to evaluate and manage tasks needed in expediting preparation and shipment of critical operational requirements. Release freight to pack for shipment, work with forwarder representatives on securing timely booking of cargo. Assure communication of shipment notifications and complete document distributions to destination operations and customs brokers. Work as part of Logistics team in assurance that all necessary processes procedures are completed in compliance to company standards and U.S. Export Authorities.
Prior experience on ERP system and Strong Excel skills .SAP a plus .Ability to pass drug and background screening required.
$18 hour--contract position for 3months+
