Provident Credit Union is looking for an Assistant Vice President, Credit Union Service Organization to ensure integration and support for financial planning and insurance products across the credit union.

The position manages the long-term sales objectives, strategies and policies for the department and acts as the liaison between vendors and the credit union sales and marketing teams responsible for sales. The individual also acts as the sales manager, coach, and internal champion for all financial planning and insurance products. This individual also sets and monitors important service quality standards for the department and its vendors. The position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a six-person financial planning team serving the Provident Credit Union Bay Area membership, as well as for managing the vendor relationship, delivery and integration of property and casualty insurance offered through its outsourced insurance agency, Provident Plus Insurance.

It is also responsible for managing the marketing contracts, plans, product launches and program integration with third parties providing ancillary insurance services through the credit union service organization, Provident Services Corporation. The major ancillary insurance products and sales programs for which the position is responsible include mechanical breakdown insurance, credit protection and guaranteed auto protection (GAP), all of which are sold in conjunction with auto loans, and an accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance direct mail marketing program. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on financial services professional with at least ten years of progressive experience, with at least five years of people supervision and sales program management experience and profit/loss responsibility in the financial services industry. The candidate must be willing to acquire a California Life and Health and Accident Insurance license and a California Fire and Casualty Insurance license.

Series 7 (general securities) and Series 24 (branch supervision) licenses will be given preference but are not required for the right candidate. Strong communication skills, demonstrated leadership and people skills and the ability to build support and commitment from diverse stakeholders across the organization to achieve sales and service goals are required. A working knowledge of financial institution operations, product/service delivery systems, and good computer skills (e.g. Excel, Word, and Outlook) are also necessary.

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. An MBA is preferred.
