Cargill Dressings, Sauces & Oils refines vegetable and tropical oils and animal fat for a wide range of food and nonfood manufacturers. We also make shortenings, frying oils, mayonnaise, dressings, and sauces for the foodservice industry.

The business operates seven oil refineries, five shortening and oil packaging plants, a mayonnaise production facility, a dressings plant and a culinary sauce facility, all of which are located in the United States. We also operate an edible oil refinery in Mexico.

The Site Continuous Improvement (CI) Leader will be responsible for the continuous improvement activities for Cargill Dressings, Sauces and Oils in Sidney, Ohio. They will be responsible building the capabilities within the organization to facilitate the identification and execution of improvements across the value streams (including suppliers and customers). The CI Leader will act as the Continuous Improvement coach for the site (SO/GG) and the DS&O Management team as well as provide input to the strategic direction to the DS&O organization on aspirational business improvement.

Principal Accountabilities:
40% - Leadership. Lead the Site team to provide coaching, direction and hands-on-implementation of business improvement strategies and processes. Provide coaching and demonstrate leadership to the organizations middle management to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and resources to execute improvements that provide significant business improvement. Lead the change management process to ensure that improvements are sustainable.

40% - Execution. Lead Continuous Improvement activities across DS&O’s value streams – primarily focused on site but also leveraging opportunities across entire BU. Ensure that implemented improvements are sustainable by following Cargill’s Change management methodology.

20% - Strategy. Facilitate the site leadership to define the Site Continuous Improvement vision and build the business unit Continuous Improvement Strategy.


Ability to travel up to 15%

Bachelor's degree

3+ years of proven experience leading continuous improvement efforts (lean and/or six sigma)

5+ years project management experience

5+ years experience working for a company that has manufacturing and/or chemical processing facilities

Experience leading significant improvements across large complex value streams

Experience effectively training others on continuous improvement tools and processes

Demonstrated success in leading 'rapid' continuous improvement events

Exceptional Problem Solving Skill Capability

Change Leadership

Business Acumen

Ability to hold others accountable to meeting aggressive targets

This role requires strong competencies in the areas of leadership, communication, teamwork, interpersonal effectiveness, initiative and process discipline

Bachelors degree in Engineering, or related field

Strong business experience and understanding of Cargill is preferred

5+ years experience leading continuous improvement efforts (lean and/or six sigma)

5+ years chemical processing or manufacturing plant experience

Experience creating and executing plans to drive organizational results

Managing complex projects in a cross-functional environment is highly desirable

Experience coaching and mentoring teams and individuals to see and execute opportunities

Ability to deal with ambiguity

Lean Six Sigma Master Blackbelt

Project management certification
