Green River Community College welcomes faculty who have a commitment to excellence in teaching and the ability to utilize a variety of methods and modes of instruction to ensure student success. The successful candidate will teach computer science courses in the late afternoon and evening. The courses would include Visual Basic, Java Programming, C/C++, PC Hardware, Networking, Operating Systems, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Security and others as technology evolves.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or Mathematics
    • Knowledge of Visual Basic, C/C++ and Java
    • Interest in keeping current with leading edge technologies appropriate to the program curriculum

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Masters Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or Mathematics
    • Three years of relevant work experience during the last five years
    • Demonstrated experience working with people of diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds as well as those with disabilities
    • Knowledgeable of Networking, Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory, PC Hardware and Security
    • Hold MCSE, A+, Linux +, Security +, CTT+, Cisco CCNA, or other industry certifications
    • Experience with microcomputers, mini/mainframe computers, networks, operating systems and packaged programs
    • Teaching and/or training experience at a community college
    • Interest in developing learning outcomes and assessment, developing competency based courses and alternate delivery methods
    • Excitement for technology

Supplemental Information:

SALARY: The starting salary listed below includes payment for outside class preparation, evaluation, and meeting with students as needed before or after class to assist them with learning problems associated with course materials.The total amount per class is based on the degree and mode of instruction. (Note: ESSB 5860 has extended the salary freeze through June 30, 2013.)
