Lockheed Martin Global Training and Logistics is looking for an Electronics Technician III – ATC Ground Radio Technician, to perform preventive maintenance on ground radio communications systems and related equipment. Typical duties will include: Administration of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) programs, ensuring compliance with provisions of the LMR contracts; assembling, connecting, and securing such components as transmitters, power supplies, and antenna assemblies; Performing preventive maintenance on ground radio systems and related equipment; Resolving installation, repair, overhaul, and modification problems associated with ground radio communications equipment; Tuning aligning, adjustment, and calibration to ensure maximum operating efficiency; Inspecting equipment at specified intervals determining operational status; Replacing defective components; Performing operational checks; and Maintaining inspection and maintenance records. |
US citizen with a Department of Defense SECRET security clearance (selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information). Must possess a valid US driver’s license with photo. Graduate of a High School or trade school. Must have attended a DoD or FAA electronics or industrial school course of instruction or successfully completed an accredited correspondence school. Extensive and thorough knowledge of the principles of electricity and electronics, and shop supervision, including shop practices and techniques. Thorough knowledge of electronic and electrical circuitry. Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, schematics, manuals, handbooks and technical specifications. This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience working with the following: Performing preventive maintenance on ATC radio systems and related equipment; Inspecting equipment at specified intervals determining operational status; Replace defective components; Perform operational checks; Maintain inspection and maintenance records; Maintain Facilities Status Records (e.g.: AFTO 499, 512, 514, etc.); Independently verify operational condition of Control tower Facilities and integrated system to be within prescribed parameters IAQ supporting Technical Orders/Manuals or directive (commercial manuals, FAA Orders, etc.). Candidates shall also have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in electronics repair, maintenance and testing of ATC Ground Radio Communications systems and prior supervisory experience.
Training: On site BC3 Ground Radio Technician and Computer, Network, Switching and Cryptographic Technician will receive familiarization training on all technical specialty specific installed and newly installed equipment.
Education: Associate’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology OR Completion of formal resident trade school or apprentice program in electronics; OR Completion of at least three U.S. Military schools in electronic systems or Electronic equipment and Grade E-7 or equivalent.
