JOB SUMMARY: Incumbent tenders customer freight on-site in TPS to vendors and also assists the Highway Team in locating capacity when needed. Provides customer service on-site by checking trailers in yard and verify all loads have been picked up. This function also provides customer service to meet Highway requirements. This position is also responsible to take after hour duties on a rotation basis.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Handle customer calls on-site for highway requirements.
Follows the daily e-mail agenda for TPS load coverage sent out by the Team Leader.
Negotiate freight charges from vendors and strive to create margin at or above company guidelines.
Locate capacity for Highway Team when needed as directed by Team Leader.
Inputs all information required in TPS system.
Communicate with customers to ensure all needs are met.
Provide transportation solutions for customer freight needs.
Create and update reports as required by customers and managers.
Provides customer service to new accounts as needed.
Track and trace customer requirements as required.
Strive to meet or exceed all customer and Hub Group key performance indicators.
Performs any extra duties assigned by the management team of Hub Group.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Customer service experience
Knowledge of Carriers in our Market
Minimum of 2 years experience in transportation or logistics industry
Minimum high school graduate
