We are recruiting for a Steam Project Manager to install, maintain, repair, and inspect steam and plumbing systems and electrical systems including specialized mechanical equipment for retrofit applications for institutional, industrial and commercial facilities. This position also involves supervision of mechanics and subcontractors who are performing the work, and periodically the Steam Project Manager will self-perform the work to be done.
Work with vendors on pricing for steam, plumbing and other equipment pricing, and work with Inventory Manager on purchase orders.
Understand and review design schematics for specialized equipment.
Hire and supervise subcontractors as needed.
Oversee steam and plumbing installations and repairs in accordance with WMI procedures.
Make contact with the onsite representative at the start of the job and as necessary.
Attend or lead a weekly safety meeting
Drive a company vehicle or box truck rental as needed for transporting materials.
Comply with WMI’s established safety procedures at all times.
Uphold Water Management’s standards of quality and excellence.
Travel a majority of the year.
Other duties as assigned.
P lumbing and mechanical skills and experience, to include steam experience.
Ability to manage projects effectively, within budget, and on schedule.
Ability to understand design schematics for plumbing and steam systems.
Ability to work independently and remotely on projects nationwide.
Basic computer skills required for e-mail communication, and for working on project documents and spreadsheets.
Proven communication and negotiating skills.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people.
Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
Clean criminal background check.
Ability to travel away from home for weeks at a time.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
