The J. E. R. Chilton at Rockwall YMCA is seeking an Aquatics Director that can make a positive impact on the lives of our members and provide leadership to the Aquatics department, Family and Teens. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Aquatics Director will coordinate and supervise the operations of the Aquatic, Family and Teens departments. This includes providing program support, maintaining certification records, scheduling staff, and assisting in ensuring pool safety and proper maintenance.

The Aquatics Director is responsible for the hiring, training and development of all staff related to family, teens, & aquatics programs. This position will be expected to design, develop, and implement programs, activities, and events that will exceed the needs of the members and community as well as position the branch in a growth mode as it relates to program participation and membership. Responsible for achieving the desired goals in units in all required areas. Accountable for managing department budgets and exceeding revenue and minimizing expense. Accountable for marketing and promoting programs, activities, and events to insure a growth based participation. Required to develop new programs that will attract new members, participants and revenue. Will work closely with the staff leadership team at the branch to cross market and promote to members and program participants. Must be an energetic relationship builder with strong communication skills and be able to work with a diverse population. Will be expected to provide leadership support to all other branch events and activities as well as community events that market and promote the branch. Responsible for recruiting volunteers, providing leadership to a division of volunteers in the Partners Campaign and achieving the required division goal.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent education or experience. One to three years related experience and a thorough understanding of customer service and its relationship to membership development. Requires strong skills in program development, coaching and mentoring of staff, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with staff, members and the community. Must be Lifeguard certified, WSLI certified, First Aid/CPR and Lifeguard Instructor certified. YMCA certifications preferred. Any missing certifications must be successfully completed within the first 30 days or first course available. Must have Certified Pool Operator certification or course successfully completed within the first 60 days or first available training. Must have excellent computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with a diversity of people and various levels of personnel.

Pay Range: $1,375.37– $1,480.77 per pay period ($35,759.55 – $38,500.00 if annualized)
