Operates (and may set-up) equipment on production line, carton cleaner, coders, filler, packing machine, weight scale, pallet stacker-robot, shrink wrap, metal detector, and case sealer, and ensures their proper operation.
Operates all on-off switches in case of malfunctioning equipment.
Responsible for the required information on code dating equipment.
Ensures that cartons are properly filled, sealed, and package coded.
Required to make mechanical adjustments to equipment on filling lines as needed (notifies maintenance department or supervisor of major mechanical or electrical problems).
Ensures that appropriate safety procedures are followed at all times.
Performs quality control checks including; cartons, dye tests, weights, codes, etc.
Also inspects cartons for cleanliness and discards cartons unfit for packaging.
Assures that equipment is cleaned between flavors.
Maintains a neat and orderly department at all times, and upon completion of shift sees that all equipment is thoroughly rinsed according to manufacturer's recommendations.
Complies with all company, Federal and State regulations.
Keeps an accurate record of finished product, reworked product, and machine performance on various computer systems (Production Equipment Monitoring System, WMS, and SAP)
May obtain cartons and other supplies needed for day's production run.
Keeps supervisor informed of supplies needed.
Keeps supervisor informed of other than normal operation.
May assist with filling and labeling machines, ensures that bottles are properly filled, capped and sealed, labeled, and locked on gallon operation.
Will comply with all general safety policies and procedures, including using all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), in accordance with Company, Local, State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Years of Related Experience:
One to three months related experience and/or training.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to operate pallet jack. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to apply good judgment and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
