Provides high level receptionist and clerical support to Twin Falls County Public Defender's Office.

Duties / Responsibilities:
Responds to and serves the public with courteous good will in a professional manner and effectively manages time and prioritizes work.

Answers and screens incoming telephone calls, receives visitors, provides information and answers questions about hearings and appointments.

Assists in the completion of paperwork related to Public Defender cases.

Copies, files with court services, and distributes pleadings, motions, and instructions.

Researches client information on ISTARS computer system. Enters all closure dispositions on case management program, and files all closed cases.

Distributes case information and court filings to appropriate attorneys for signatures and/or filing.

Performs other work as assigned, including receiving information from County jail inmates.

Places in and retrieves files and materials in office archive system.

Conveys files and material between offices and departments.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years office/clerical experience.
Minimum typing skills of 30 wpm .
Must possess good telephone etiquette.
General understanding of legal phraseology and terminology .
General understanding of criminal process .
Ability to read, understand, and organize legal documents.
Ability to understand and remember instructions and file categories.
Ability to accurately file correct paperwork.
Must possess a positive and dependable work ethic.
Bilingual preferred .
Maintain presentable appearance in grooming and attire.
Proficient with Word.
Lifting of boxes of files for movement to and from archives.
Ability to convey materials between offices/departments.
Sitting with intermittent moving in an office environment, lifting of office supplies (e.g., binders, etc.), pushing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, standing, reaching, walking, pulling, manual dexterity to operate office machines, grasping, talking & hearing (in person and by telephone), memorizing, and seeing (e.g., documents, etc.)
Ability to see color and color code files.
Ability to perform essential duties efficiently and accurately with or without reasonable accommodations and without endangering incumbent or other employees.
