General Surgeon for Community-Based Surgical Practice

The University of Iowa Department of Surgery is seeking General Surgery faculty to join a new community-based surgical practice in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Appointments will be for assistant, associate, or full professor in the clinical track specializing in the following areas:

  • General surgery, acute care surgery, trauma, and critical care
  • Surgical oncology and breast surgery
  • Gastrointestinal, minimally-invasive, and colorectal surgery
  • Vascular surgery
The candidate must be a graduate of an approved medical college, have completed training in all phases of General Surgery, and possess board eligibility/certification from the American Board of Surgery. Completion of a fellowship in a related field is highly desirable. Applicants will also need to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills, possess a strong commitment to academic and clinical excellence, as well as demonstrate achievements in team building, performance improvement, and program development.
