Technical Manager

The overall role of the Technical Managers is to research the scheme and their related requirements and translate into readily assimilated information. Assist in the identification of competency requirements and technical processes required to meet accreditation requirements. To provide technical support and/or training for the following teams Marketing, Sales, Operations, Certification Decision and Certificate Issue.

This individual will also provide technical and general support for other BSI Departments such as Marketing and Training. They will ensure that scheme requirements, rules and related regulations are identified, communicated and incorporated into the BSI Business Management System.

Technical Manager’s will undertake only sufficient audit days to maintain their qualification and competence as required by scheme rules.

Essential Responsibilities:
Technical assistance to key clients and BSI sales staff throughout the engagement, selection and contract review processes.

Produce scheme collateral (e.g. ‘Whitepapers’ specific communication pieces and newsletters) for internal and external customers.

Participate in client focused webinars.

Contribute to customer focused events, conferences and other forums.

Assist in risk assessment for certification of clients.

Technical liaison with key external stakeholders (e.g. ABs, Quest Forum, IATF Oversight Office, Health Canada Forum etc.)

Subject matter expert to Clients, Sales, Operations and Back-up support for certification decisions for all accredited and unaccredited standards in area of responsibility (e.g. ISO50000, ISO14001, ISO,9100, ISO13485, TL9000 etc.), upon request.

A College Degree or an equivalent qualification.

Training in each standard for which the Technical Manager is responsible.

Current Lead Auditor status, preferred

This position requires both domestic and international travel up to approximately 25% of the work time depending on the role and current responsibilities, projects and activities.
