The Office of Research & Development (ORD) currently has an opening for an Administrative Analyst to serve as the lead in the integration of the functional aspects of two or more financial/human resources management systems related to the day to day operations. The Administrative Analyst may partner with Human Resource Services in areas of staffing, compensation, benefits, and employee relations and with Financial Services on campus-wide initiatives.

Essential Functions: Ø

Manage the daily business operations of a large department, including payroll processing, human resource management, financial budgeting, and forecasting and reporting. Ø

Identifies and assists in the development of future business process changes. Applies knowledge of financial/human resources management systems applications to organization-specific needs and processes; assists in modifying functional designs to enhance functionality of reporting and tracking. Ø

Provides hands on support as needed in the functional areas supported by financial/human resources such as procurement, effort reporting/distribution and other financial support activities as defined by the functional unit. Ø

Performs line by line trend analysis and financial forecasts of departmental budgets. Prepares and assembles statistical data and reports for use in budgetary evaluation, maintaining downloaded data to coordinate necessary computer files. Ø

Manages and attends to confidential matters of employment, credentialing, payroll and records management processes for the department. Ø

Perform administrative duties such as staff supervision, performance evaluation, budgetary tracking, report formulation, and quality assurance. Ø

Assures effective use of resources within the department and may supervise support staff. Researches, analyzes, and resolves special projects, requests, and questions as needed.

Minimum Qualifications: Ø

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, and/or related field. Ø

Three (3) years of related experience in use and analysis of financial and/or human resource management systems. Ø

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: ü

Knowledge of financial systems applications and accepted business processes and practices. ü

Ability to prioritize ongoing and new projects, as well as conduct research and gather information. ü

Ability to communicate and support effective partnerships with operating officials and other employees. ü

Skill in oral/written communications and presentations, along with interpersonal skills for supporting conclusions and recommendations made. ü

Ability to apply deductive reasoning and draw conclusions in order to solve problems and facilitate the decision making processes. ü

Skill in the effective use of relevant PC computer applications and financial/human resource management systems such as RAVEN, BANNER, eUMB (PeopleSoft).

Hiring Range: Commensurate with education and experience
