Assists in compiling information to be used for documentation for routine professional and technical reports. Assists in calculating and plotting geometric and trigonometric details for highways and bridges. Assists engineering personnel engaged in the computation and verification of of quantities in construction projects. Trains in field inspection. Trains as an inspector for the construction of major roads and bridges. Trains to perform testing of soil, aggregates, concrete mixes, compaction tests, pipe laying and other materials as required by Department procedures. Trains to prepare routine professional and technical reports including daily work reports and monthly construction reports. Acts as a liaison between the Department and consulting firms hired to provide construction services on major roads and bridge projects. Maintains equipment assigned, cleaning the vehicle monthly and keeping work area in good order.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in engineering; or a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology and two (2) years of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
