Stolar, a pioneer company responsible for researching, developing and manufacturing radio frequency geophysical imaging systems for use in various mining applications as well as defense-related projects, is seeking experienced, team-oriented professionals. Non-management software engineers are needed immediately. The position involves some travel. As a representative of this innovative organization, the candidates will be interacting with leading scientists and engineers at some of the most advanced research laboratories around the world.Candidates must be U.S. citizens and perspective employees must be eligible for a government security clearance. Stolar Research Corporation is an equal opportunity employer and a drug free work environment.Must have: Proficiency with GUI frameworks such as MFC, QT, or WxWidgets Proficiency in C and C++ Proficiency with a scripting language such as python, perl, or ruby in parsing both binary and text files Knowledge in inter-process communication and basic network programming Able to work both independently and as part of a team. Must be comfortable leading software efforts. Proven ability to communicate and support electrical and mechanical concepts Willing and excited to expand into other areas of software/hardware design as project and company needs change Willing to travel (travel can be up to approximately 25% of the time). Nice to have: Experience in Matlab or similar for electromagnetics based algorithm development Practical and theoretical understanding of networking and computing concepts such as TCP/IP, threading, caching, etc. Experience in at least one distribution of Linux such as Ubuntu, Fedora, or Debian, including command utilities and remote terminals Familiar with electrical engineering, especially in the areas of printed circuit board (PCB) design, radio frequency (RF), field-programmable gate array (FPGA), micro controllers, and digital signal processor (DSP). Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL Experience with XML files and schema
