Under the general direction of the Lead Senior Practitioner and Department Director and Supervisor/charge person performs procedures related to aiding, and assisting the Respiratory therapists in stocking, and maintaining equipment and administered medication. Duties include coordinating equipment, inventory control, preventative maintenance, sterilization and disinfection and general care and inventory.
Other duties include processing equipment between sterile processing, print shop, receiving department and the Respiratory Care Department. Responsible for providing equipment to various storage areas and therapist designated areas.
Assists with oxygen delivery system change out and processing.
May perform duties related to computerized equipment ordering, charge entry and office administration duties.
Responsible for coordinating repairs of general equipment by outside contractors and Bio-Medical engineering departments.
Must be a high school graduate.
Respiratory Therapy Assistant or Student desired.
Knowledge of Healthcare and Mechanical equipment required.
Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care
appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.
Knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and process the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed by the patient group.
Geriatric, Adult, Young Adult and Pediatric.
Annual performance appraisals will measure the knowledge and skill maintained through the use of criteria based job standards.
