  • The primary purpose of this position is to exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Community Services Flight activities in the Force Support Squadron.

  • Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Community Services Flight.

  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

  • Represents the Force Support Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

  • Establishes, defines, and implements requirements for community service programs to ensure operations are in line with regulatory and fiscal requirements, support goals, and mission requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Back to top SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : One year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, the specialized experience must have been at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service. Examples of creditable specialized experience include: k nowledge of business operations policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques within one or more of the following areas: military recreation; base morale, welfare, and recreation business operations; food and beverage operations; and/or community wide event planning to evaluate strengths or weaknesses and develop/revise programs to meet goals and promote patronage.

Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-11 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of business operations policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques within one or more of the following areas: military recreation; base morale, welfare, and recreation business operations; food and beverage operations; and/or community wide event planning to evaluate strengths or weaknesses and develop/revise programs to meet goals and promote patronage.
  • Knowledge of financial, budget, resource management practices and principles, and analytical and evaluative methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
  • Skill in effectively organizing and utilizing available community resources within the program framework to augment the program to meet installation objectives.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors.
  • Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
  • PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE : Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

    ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :
    • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

    • Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall.

    • The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.

    • Mobility is a condition of employment. The employee must sign an Air Force-wide mobility agreement.

    • The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver’s license may be required.

    • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
