Position : Part-time Recruiter
Location : New York City
About.com is seeking a highly qualified recruiter to join the Human Resources team on a part time basis (20-30 hours per week) with the potential to evolve into a full time position. The primary recruiting focus will be in support of our technical and product teams though support in other areas such as sales and marketing will also be required.
Primary Responsibilities :
Handle full lifecycle recruitment activities sourcing active as well as passive candidates creatively and cost effectively using a variety of means including Internet, networking, social media, referrals,etc.
Screen candidates, interview and refer suitable applicants for approved open positions communicating with all candidates in a timely and professional manner
Negotiate offer packages on behalf of the company with candidates in close coordination with the Human Resources team and the hiring manager
Build and maintain positive relationships and work effectively with internal clients counseling them as appropriate to ensure the selection process will result in a highly qualified hire
2-5 years technical recruiting or sourcing in a search firm or fast paced start up recruiting environment
Knowledge and understanding of various programming languages, web technologies, software development processes and emerging platforms and technologies
Experience with Internet recruiting, HRIS systems and applicant tracking systems
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal clients
Highly developed interviewing skills and thorough knowledge of standard hiring practices, contingency and retained search and applicable state and federal laws
Proactive with the ability to work independently
Experience with portals, search, digital publishers, software or diversifies media/communications companies would be a plus
