PRO-telligent is currently seeking an Inventory Management Specialist to support a USG client. This position is located in Washington, DC. The person in this position will:
Be responsible for the procurement, allocation from stocks, supply contracts, and supply management of the Department’s official glassware, chinaware, flatware hollowware, cookware, and other essential kitchen utensils to meet the needs of posts worldwide.
Work with the overseas GSO staff and technical personnel who assist in these supply management processes and who also provide specific cognizance over certain other items. These items are extremely sensitive because of cost, nature of the items, and the protocol aspects of the process. The management and control of these items are essential and the ability to account for stock inventory is paramount.
Contribute input for acquisition planning for well established levels of these items necessary to support the Department’s missions.
Develop, plan, and estimate current and future requirements for representational supplies that are necessary for DOS missions. Analyzes and prepares statistical data concerning the stock position and activity for the above items to determine issue experience, demand, and stock balances. Computes and compiles requirements, reports, and forecasts for stockpile purposes and prepares summaries showing comparisons between issues and forecasted requirements as necessary.
Share the responsibility for briefing Ambassadors and their spouses, Deputy Chiefs of Mission, Principal Officers and other Foreign Service personnel on representational supplies provided to the occupant’s residence. Provides information about representational supply allocations and the kinds of items provided by the Representational Supply Program.
Use knowledge of a broad range of supply program relationships to identify and resolve failure rates in critical items. Identifies interim acceptable substitutes, works with technical specialists, users and suppliers to correct item deficiencies and return defective material. Receives returned sterling flatware and/or hollowware from posts for repair, re-use, or disposal through GSA.
Help develop overall warehouse and storage operation plans. Helps determine suitability and usefulness of existing and proposed storage sites and facilities. Resolves difficult problems relating to storage, movement, and control of representational items.
Review internet sites to assist in obtaining adequate and pertinent data on which to base decisions on item descriptions and end item applications. Adjusts account records to reflect routine intervention required by changes in usage rate, pricing, additional vendors, and other similar activities. Analyzes price and cost factors in selecting and ordering representational supplies from U.S. suppliers. Drafts recommendations, justifications, and directives for the types and quantities of representational supplies required by the program.
Recommends source of supply (if sole source) for procurement purposes. For contract supplies analyzes contractors’ bids in the terms of the Government’s technical specifications cost as the Contracting Officer’s Representative. Maintains records of and jurisdiction over Government stockpiles and allotments to posts of crested and un-crested stockpiled supplies. Initiates procurement orders to supplement stockpiled supplies to maintain a planned balance.
- Must possess a minimum of a Secret clearance
- Must possess some prior USG or Military experience associated with logistics/procurement.
- Strong preference for someone with a Bachelor's Degree.
