CITGO Petroleum Corporation's Lake Charles, LA Manufacturing Complex, the nation's fifth largest crude oil refinery, is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer. This 425 MBPD crude capacity complex has 4 atmospheric distillation towers, 3 vacuum distillation towers, 2 Delayed Cokers, 3 Fluid Cat Crackers, 3 naphtha Reformers, a Hydrocracker, and several state-of-the-art processes.
As a Rotating Equipment Engineer, you will provide technical support to maintenance & operations to increase rotating equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs; complete failure analyses of rotating equipment systems to determine root causes for failures and recommend improvements to eliminate future failures.
Additional Duties Include:
•Champion reliability of rotating equipment in assigned area by promoting, training, presentations and other activities to keep awareness high.
•Utilize vibration and process data to troubleshoot and predict impending failures of rotating equipment in order to avoid secondary damage.
•Establish guidelines for and monitor the performance of the preventative maintenance programs.
•Provide technical assistance for rotating equipment systems on unit turnarounds and on equipment start-ups.
•Provide maintenance department input on rotating equipment repair scopes and capital projects.
•Identify and implement improvement ideas to improve operational performance, increase availability (MTBF) and/or reduce costs.
Job Requirements (Education/Experience):
•B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, required
•2 to 10 years of refinery or petrochemical plant experience with rotating equipment especially pumps, motors, turbines, and compressors, required
•Experience vibration signature analysis, preferred
•Strong PC skills with CSI vibration software, preferred
•Good verbal and written communications skills, required
