The primary objective of this role is to partner with internal management to develop and test business continuity plans and act as a liaison between business and IT (disaster recovery) to ensure success of these plans.

PURPOSE:
Maintains the Business Continuity Management program for Aviva USA ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Create Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and use that information to partner with process owners to write Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
Interview key stakeholders to collect and validate data and business needs.
Build BCP plans to ensure business unit needs are covered in the plan
Execute BCP exercises and ensure BCPs are functional.
Produce quality and gap analysis/reporting of Business Continuity Management data collected.
Work with Business Units/stakeholders to identify and continually assess the requirements to meet standards for Crisis/Incident Management.
Assist with ensuring appropriate measures are taken to respond, investigate and record incidents, including post-incident reports & mitigation actions.
Assist with adequate and timely resolutions to all audit/review issues relating to all segments of Business Continuity Management e.g., business continuity plans, and incident management.
Communicate with key stakeholders regarding Business Continuity Management, developing business awareness and guidelines.
Coordinate with business partners to develop the Work Area Recovery plan.
Understand, develop and facilitate across Aviva USA, Business Continuity Management compliance reporting processes. EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE:

Broad knowledge of IT systems preferred
Industry recognized Business Continuity Management/Crisis Management certification (DRI/ABCP/CBCP) preferred.
Broad based knowledge of life insurance and annuity operations preferred
Some experience in Business Continuity Management/Crisis/Incident Management preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Knowledge of Business Continuity Management, Crisis/Incident Management and general risk profiles.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques in a highly complex environment.
Ability to facilitate effective discussions and resolve conflicts in group meetings with diverse, cross-functional backgrounds participating.
Strong team player who will lead by example through strong personal leadership and conviction.
Strong project management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, leading to effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the Aviva network.
Knowledge of methods, systems and applicable legislative requirements in the Business Continuity Planning field and general risk profiles of Aviva USA operating environment.
