STORE COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY

As we expand our footprint in 2013 and beyond, we’re creating a world-class Retail experience based on development and implementation of our communications strategy, methods, and means for the Microsoft Retail Stores Field organization. As a Communications Manager of Retail Stores you will be responsible for working with the Stores Operations Manager to maximize execution with store associates and management, including the content and analysis of the current and anticipated future communications needs to create an end to end, holistic communications structure that is aligned with the company’s overall strategic plans and goals. Driving cross-team collaboration, listening to your customers (store associates and management), and championing their needs within Retail HQ and the broader Microsoft is at the core of this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop retail store communication strategy that will scale to meet the ever growing needs of the retail stores

- Manage ongoing store communications on a daily basis for Store Operations

- Manage mediums of communications (Store Portal, Break room Loop,
Forums, Email, etc.) and actively drive improvements

- Actively solicit and manage feedback from store associates & management to drive resolution of issues and suggest improvements for Merchandising, Marketing, Product Experiences, and RTG

- Regularly visit stores to learn how to improve retail programs and Store Operations Communications

- Act as the voice of the store associates and store management in HQ meetings, bringing insights from the field into conversations and decision making

- Work with teams outside of retail to identify areas to integrate into broader Microsoft teams to find mutually beneficial areas of partnership that will ultimately improve Store Operations and Communications

YOUR QUALITIES

- As a core member of the Store Operations team, you must be a generalist by nature, fast learner, and willing to take on new challenges

- Ability to synthesize large amounts of information and distill into powerful communications

- Demonstrated prowess influencing across horizontal and vertical boundaries

- Ability to deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast paced and changing environment.

- Passion for quality, detail, and results

- Must possess superb written communication skills

Requirements

- 10+ years of experience in retail

- 5+ years of experience in communications or marketing role for retail

- Previous experience leading project teams

- BA/BS required

- This position will require approximately 15% travel within North America
