This outside sales position is part of S&T Corporate Markets. The Account Manager is responsible for managing the relationship with existing Pharma/Biotech accounts in addition to developing new accounts. Technical knowledge and experience in the Pharma/Biotech field is highly preferred as the AM will be responsible for sales of online journals, book content as well as databases appealing to this client base.

The responsibilities include:
Achieve Account Managers specific/individual revenue targets.

Formulate customer focused strategies to meet key account needs.

Establish and maintain targeted accounts.

Identify key prospects, qualify, uncover needs and sell new business within assigned industries.

The successful candidate will be capable of maintaining good relationships with their customers and constructively guiding them and new prospects to more effective research tools.

The AM will be expected to develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of Elsevier electronic products.

Minimum of 3-5 years B2B sales experience, preferably in publishing or scientific/technical sales

Bachelor’s degree required.

Strong background and successful track record in prospect identification and conversion to new business

Technical knowledge and experience in Pharma/Biotech is desired and a very strong advantage for the successful candidate.

Ability to travel up to 50%.

Ability and desire to work in a team sales environment

Good presentation skills; good analytical skills, working knowledge of Excel, Power Point
