An Oil & Gas Analyst in J.P. Morgan's Oil, Gas, and Mineral Middle Office Group is an integral component of servicing high and ultra high net worth fiduciary clients holding oil, gas, and mineral interests as a portion of their portfolio. This position focuses on operational aspects of the business and requires a solid understanding of income and expense processing and other operational activities required to appropriately process revenue and expenses, including interaction and communication with out third party vendors, JP Morgan Operations, oil and gas companies, mineral managers, and other Private Banking associates. The successful candidate will:
Work directly with third party vendors and JPMorgan Operations to oversee the Oil & Gas internal dda and other accounts, including payables, ad valorem taxes, suspense and others as determined by manager;
Work with mineral managers and other JP Morgan employees to research and clear open processing items;
Process fees for the Oil & Gas Practice, including manual and electronic fees, including invoiced fees and fee reversals;
Provide operational reporting to various individuals and groups;
Perform additional operational related activities as defined by manager; and
Follow appropriate policies and procedures to ensure the firm fulfills its fiduciary responsibilities in accordance with the applicable governing document and law.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must communicate with credibility and confidence, show professional concern for quality and detail of work, and have a strong commitment to successfully meeting deadlines and responsibilities. The individual will need to be proactive and action-oriented with strong analytical skills and a proven ability for problem solving. Qualifications include:
An undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience (five-six years of oil and gas operations experience working in a team environment)
Experience working with oil and gas management and accounting systems and industry research tools
General knowledge of oil and gas industry and overall process flows
Ability to partner with other Private Banking associates to meet all client expectations
Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Effective issue resolution and decision-making skills
Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint)
Must be flexible with a "can do" approach
