Associates degree or higher in Biology, Chemistry, or any applied sciences preferred
1 to 3 years analytical laboratory experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communications skills are necessary
Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint are necessary
Punctuality and accuracy are critical
Ability to learn and apply new skills quickly is required
Job Description: Overview:
To provide analytical laboratory support that ensures compliance to generally accepted good laboratory practices used at a soybean crushing/refining operation. Assists Quality Assurance Manager and supports all laboratory functions. To assure that all products produced at the Decatur Facility consistently meet or exceed company standard and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Essential Functions
Administer and adhere to all company operation practices, policies and procedures.
Sample preparation for customers, collaborative studies, and/or wet lab comparison data
Data entry of analysis including trending and standard deviations
Truck and/or Railcar Certificate of Analysis’ created, faxed, and filed
Equipment diagnostics and calibration
Cross-train with Quality Assurance Manager on equipment troubleshooting and act as a backup for other laboratory functions
Communicate analysis results and/or issues to management team
